Smoked Negroni
The Negroni has never been shy. This version gives it another layer.
Copperpenny Ember Smoked Gin brings a gentle smoky character to the classic combination of gin, bitter aperitivo and sweet vermouth. Keeping the gin slightly forward lets Ember remain at the centre of the drink, while Campari delivers familiar orange bitterness and vermouth rounds everything out with richness and spice.
Bold, bittersweet and quietly smoky, it’s a Negroni built for slower sipping.
| GLASS | Rocks Glass |
| ICE | One Large Cube |
| GARNISH | Orange peel |
Method
Add the Ember Smoked Gin, sweet vermouth and Campari to a mixing glass filled with ice.
Stir for approximately 20–25 seconds, until thoroughly chilled and properly diluted.
Strain over one large cube in a rocks glass.
Cut a wide strip of orange peel and express the oils over the surface of the cocktail. Rub the peel around the rim before placing it in the glass.
Copperpenny Tip
Smoke is an ingredient, not a special effect.
There’s no need to add extra smoke to the glass. Ember already brings that character to the cocktail, and piling more smoke on top can quickly overwhelm the vermouth and bitter orange.
A good Negroni should still taste balanced—the smoke should appear as another layer, not be the only thing you notice.
