Between the Vines
Rich brandy meets bright citrus in Between the Vines—a lively sour that balances warmth, tartness and just enough sweetness.
French brandy brings soft fruit, spice and oak to the glass, while Copperpenny Just A Sec layers in fresh orange character. Lemon keeps things bright and a touch of pomegranate syrup adds tart berry sweetness and a beautiful blush.
Smooth enough for a slow sip, bright enough for another.
| GLASS | Chilled Nick and Nora |
| GARNISH | Lemon Twist |
| PROCESS | Shake well , double strain |
Method
Chill a Nick & Nora glass while you prepare the cocktail.
Add the brandy, Just A Sec, fresh lemon juice and pomegranate syrup to a shaker. Fill generously with ice and shake firmly for approximately 10–12 seconds, until thoroughly chilled.
Double-strain through a fine strainer into the chilled glass.
Cut a strip of lemon peel, express the oils over the surface of the cocktail and finish with the twist.
A Note on Pomegranate Syrup
A good-quality bottled pomegranate syrup or grenadine works perfectly here—just look for one made with real pomegranate rather than something that is simply red and sweet.
If you already have homemade grenadine, even better.
Copperpenny Tip
Double-strain your sours.
Fresh citrus leaves behind tiny pieces of pulp, and a hard shake creates small ice shards. Passing the drink through both your cocktail strainer and a fine strainer keeps those out of the glass.
The result is a cleaner surface and a smoother, more polished cocktail.
